April 16, 2021, Hollister, CA – Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital (HHMH) will begin a renovation project on Monday, April 19, that focuses on the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC). During the renovation, the ASC will be closed and all surgeries and outpatient surgical procedures will take place in the main hospital surgical suites.
The renovation project will include:
• Replacement of the HVAC system
• Replacement of lights and boom arms in the surgical suites
• Construction of the Meditation Garden Portico between the main hospital and ASC
• Removal and replacement of the Meditation Garden concrete patio

The refurbishment of the Meditation Garden patio will allow for a relaxing, meditative outdoor space for visitors to utilize while they are waiting for someone in surgery or visiting someone in the hospital.

“We are excited for the opportunity to update and upgrade our surgery center” said Deanna Williams, RN, Director of Surgical Services. “The new HVAC system along with the new lighting and boom arms will make a tremendous difference in the comfort and functionality of our surgical suites.”

Hospital CEO Steven Hannah also added “While we are enthusiastic about our projects, we also understand that during some phases of the construction there will be some noise issues and we apologize in advance for the inconvenience.”

The renovation projected is expected to take approximately six weeks to complete.
