How-to Guide

How do I claim a shift?

Click on “Available Shifts” (either List View of Calendar View) and you will see a list of times you can claim. The shifts are broken into 2-hour increments. We have one shift type which is on the even hour (i.e., 8am-10am) and we have another shift type on the odd hour (i.e., 9am-11am). The maximum amount of time you can volunteer in one day is 8 hours (4 shifts).

How many people can volunteer at any one time?

We allow up to 2 people per shift. Shifts are arranged in 2-hour odd and even hour blocks (8am-10am or 9am-11am). If there are no shifts available for the time you want, that means all the shifts are already claimed by other volunteers.

For overnight shifts (12am-6am;  1am-7am) we limit shifts to 1 person per shift.

What if I need to change my schedule/drop a shift?

If something comes up and you need to cancel a shift you picked up, go to “Your Schedule”, find the time you need to drop, and click on “View Shift Details”. From this page, you can click the “Drop” button to remove that from your schedule. Please keep in mind, you need to do this 48 hours in advance of the time being changed. After 48 hours you will not be able to drop a shift.
