SAN BENITO HEALTH CARE DISTRICT AND HAZEL HAWKINS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL SUPPORT THE STATE VACCINATION INITIATIVE

Hollister, Calif. – AUGUST 18, 2021:  The San Benito Health Care District Board of Directors, the Administration of Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital (HHMH) along with the HHMH Medical Executive Committee strongly support the implementation of the COVID–19 vaccination initiative as mandated by the State of California Public Health Officer order of August 5, 2021, for all HHMH employees, medical staff, volunteers, and associates, and a program of COVID-19 testing for those who are not vaccinated due to authorized declinations.

“We believe this initiative is extremely beneficial and it is important for us to be leaders in promoting health and safety within our organization, which in turn benefits our community” said HHMH CEO, Steve Hannah.  HHMH Chief of Staff and ER Medical Director, Michael Bogey, MD also states “As we are seeing an increase in higher acuity COVID patients in our ER along with the increase of COVID within San Benito County, I believe it’s imperative that we follow this mandate to help stave off another surge in COVID cases.”
