A Message from the CEO

I am honored and humbled to serve as the CEO for San Benito Health Care District aka Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital (HHMH), and I want to thank everyone for the warm welcome I’ve received from throughout the hospital, skilled nursing facilities, clinics and the community.

All of us here at HHMH are here for our patients, their families and our communities, especially during these challenging times. While the taking care of patients with COVID-19 and the other impacts of the pandemic on our associates has been our major focus over the past year, we also want to keep an eye on the future and what lies ahead in the coming months. It is our sincere hope that with the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine and the efforts put forth by our staff and our community partners to provide vaccinations to the residents of San Benito County, we can gradually and safely return to a sense of normalcy.

In looking towards the future and with the healthcare environment constantly changing, I’m committed to working closely with the District Board and leaders of HHMH to provide a solid strategic direction for our organization as we progress through the next several years. I believe that there is a bright future but there will need to be a focused approach to how we plan for that future to achieve success. Even outside of the pandemic, healthcare reimbursement and other trends are putting a strain on smaller independent healthcare organizations like HHMH.

I appreciate the sincere dedication our employees of HHMH continue to have to the delivery of excellent healthcare to our District residents and in fulfilling their part in the overall Mission of Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital. I am proud to be part of the team of caregivers, administrators, physicians, volunteers, and the many others that make up the force behind the success of our hospital!
