Hazel Hawkins Hospital Foundation is one of the 23 nonprofits participating in San Benito GIVES on Tuesday, May 16.
Past fundraising efforts by the Foundation have been used to refurbish the front lobby, complete the campaign “Operation Renovation – Enhancing Our Healing Environment” with refurbishment of the main hospital hallways, waiting areas, 24 patient rooms, and also the purchase of the 3D Breast Ultrasound equipment for the Women’s Diagnostic Center.
The Foundation’s current campaign is “Enhancing Our Health Centers – building a healthy community one patient at a time,” starting with the Sunset Street facility. Improvements are needed in order to provide a better overall experience for our patients.
Funds are also being raised for programs to support the new Barragan Family Diabetes Center scheduled to be completed in June. The Center is made possible through a major gift from Mary Ann Barragan, the Hospital, and a grant from the Monterey Peninsula Foundation to purchase some of the major equipment needed in the facility. The Barragan Family Diabetes Center will allow Hazel Hawkins to better serve community members suffering from the impacts of diabetes-related health issues. It will be the first and only of its kind in San Benito County.
